I would like to thank the exhibitors for a lovely entry. I was, at last, so pleased to see so many the correct size & full of quality that’s what our breed is all about. Thank you also to my two stewards.
MPD & PD (0).
JD (2) 1 Powell & Tarrant’s Malmelsa Romancing Romeo at Pawnic, I thought this dog shows a lot of promise. Good head, eye & expression. Neck falls into well placed shoulders, firm topline & quarters & moved sound & true; 2 Knowles & Glen’s Wilholme I Gotta Feelin for Bessalone, pleasing in head & eye. Neck set into well made shoulders. Good front & feet. Correct coat, depth & topline. Well made hindquarters & a good steady mover.
PGD (2) 1 Mould & Bird’s Koolwaters Cream Cracker, this dog was on top form today. Super head & eye, firm neck & first class shoulders, good front assembly. Deep chest & firm topline & well angulated hindquarters which he used so well. I loved this dog’s positive & true movement; 2 Hughes’ Sonnenberg Sealion, a well balanced dog with a good head & kind expression. Good neck set into well laid shoulders. Plenty of depth & good spring of rib, well muscled quarters which he used to advantage on the move.
LD (6) 1 Serpa & Griffiths’ Barleyarch Trumpeter, what a lovely class this was to judge. I found the first two difficult to split, but what I will say is these two give me hope for the breed. I think that they will have a lot of fun swapping places, but they are certain champions in the making. A masculine well balanced dog of correct size, make & shape. Excels in headpiece with a dark eye & kind expression. Neck falls into well placed shoulders, deep chest & well ribbed body. Strong loin & topline, & the very best quarters which enabled him to have plenty of drive & extension. So sound; 2 Flaherty & Reddyhough’s Isara Kurzhaar Wieser, a very eyecatching dog, full of quality & class. Beautifully balanced throughout with a lovely head & expression. Neck falls into the very best of shoulders. Chest nice & deep with a good ribbed body. Strong topline & well formed hindquarters. Moved sound & true; 3 Duncan’s Kavacanne Hun Toint Retreve.
OD (5,1a) 1 Mann & Roden’s Valger Nearco from Keigame, a masculine dog built on flowing lines. Super head & eye, with a real GSP expression. Excels in neck & body shape. Good depth, topline & coat & the very best muscled quarters which he uses so well on the move. Full marks to his handler, because I do not think that this is an easy dog to show, but somehow they come together in perfect harmony. So sound & lovely to watch. CC; 2 Mervyn’s Ir Sh Ch Barleyarch Blue Riband at Tomanipoint, this dog has caught my eye many times around the ringside, & at last I got my hands on him, & I was not disappointed. Lovely headpiece & expression. Correct layback of shoulders. Strong topline, deep chest & good ribbing. Balanced angulation behind, which enabled him to power around the ring so sound & true; 3 Barnett’s Puddledub Poit Dhubh.
VD (1) 1 Duncan’s Sh Ch Magregor Pukka, what a picture this dog looked. A great credit to its owner for presenting him in tip top condition. A masculine balanced dog of correct size. I loved his headpiece & melting expression. Well placed shoulders, good front, legs & feet, level topline & correct ribbing. His first class quarters enabled him to power around the ring with plenty of reach & drive. A sound free mover. RCC.

MPB (3) 1 Mervyn’s Tomanipoint Schumacher, such a lovely youngster with a sweet head & expression, good length of neck into well placed shoulders, good bone & ribbing. I loved this bitch for her overall balance & type. Nicely angulated quarters which she used so well on the move. A sound effortless mover & one to watch for the future; 2 Hopkins’ Seasham Dancing Queen, another youngster with a lot to like. Good head & eye. Clean neck & shoulders. Good coat & topline. Excellent ribbing & well angulated quarters. Moved with purpose & drive. A sound free mover; 3 Hardcastle & Chapman’s Arbourtrees Elm View.
PB (3,1) 1 Elrington’s Barleyarch Beetle at Tequesta, a beautiful youngster built on classical lines. Feminine headpiece & soft expression. Neck falls into correct shoulders. Good topline & harsh coat. Good depth of chest & spring of ribs, firm well muscled quarters which she used so well on the move. Loved her sound free flowing movement. BP; 2 Hardcastle & Chapman’s Arbourtrees Elm View, a promising youngster of pleasing type. Good head & eye. Neck falls into clean shoulders. Good body shape & firm quarters. Moved & showed well.
JB (5) 1 Drew’s Cushatlaw Illustrious, this bitch took my eye the moment she entered the ring & I was not disappointed when I went over her. Beautiful feminine headpiece with a soft kind eye. Good front, legs & feet. Clean neck & shoulders. I loved her outline & proportions, so well balanced. Well muscled quarters which enabled her to produce this free flowing movement, a joy to watch; 2 B Beetle at T; 3 Knowles & Glen’s Wilholme Sharp N Smart at Bessalone.
PGB (6) 1 Duncan’s Kavacanne Gale Storm, another top quality bitch of the type that I like. A pretty head with expressive eye. Lovely reach of neck falls into clean shoulders. Good topline & correct coat. Good depth & a well ribbed body, nicely angulated hindquarters & a sound positive mover. Presented & handled in tip top condition; 2 Field’s Deepthatch Pocona, this is a lovely bitch. Good head & expression, correct layback of shoulder, good front assembly, strong topline. Well ribbed body & a good bend of stifle. Very sound & positive, true movement. Full marks to the handler today, because her movement was a joy to watch; 3 Hughes’ Sonnenberg Seaholly.
LB (5) 1 Brown’s Barleyarch Tigernut at Graygees, a medium sized bitch with a lovely balanced outline. A pretty head with a lovely expression, clean through the neck & shoulders. Deep chest with a well ribbed body, good topline & tailset, & well angulated hindquarters finished the picture. Moved with good reach & drive; 2 Mann’s Valger Phoebe, this bitch has a beautiful balanced outline & well put together. Feminine head & lovely dark eye. Strong neck falls into the very best of shoulders. Good topline & coat. Good depth of chest & ribbing, with well muscled hindquarters which enabled her to move free with purpose & drive; 3 Cotton’s Barleyarch Florin.
OB (6,1) 1 Harris’ Barleyarch Peanut, what a stunning bitch, so beautifully put together. Strong but elegant in shape, so well balanced & correct size. Glorious headpiece with a dark eye & melting expression. Strong neck falls into first class shoulders. Excellent ribbing which has good depth, good firm topline & a strong loin & well muscled rearquarters. This bitch was shown in tip-top condition & her sound, free flowing movement, full of drive, was a joy to watch. Congratulations on going G4, which you so deserved today. CC & BOB; 2 Mould & Bird’s Koolwaters Calamity Jane, there is nothing to dislike about this bitch she was so nice to handle. Feminine head with a good dark eye. Good reach of neck sits into well made shoulders. Lovely depth of body & well sprung ribs. Good topline & tailset & well developed quarters. I loved her easy, effortless movement, she had super reach & drive on powerful legs. So sound & true. RCC; 3 Taylor’s Koolwaters On Moonlight Bay at Pelenrise.
VB (4) 1 Smith’s Indijazz Fan Mail at Abbeyaire, this 9 year old bitch was giving her best today. Lovely head & expression, firm arched neck which falls into clean shoulders. Good front & tight feet. Nicely balanced body, & a well muscled rear. Her movement was positive & true; 2 Cotton’s Winterwell Miss Tified, another lovely type with sweet head & expression. Good reach of neck into well laid shoulders. Firm well ribbed body. Good topline & coat. Well muscled hindquarters. Moved & showed well; 3 Gardiner’s Kilnrae Gretel.
GCB (2) 1 Hopkins’ Seasham Dressed For Success, pleasing in head & expression. Good neck & shoulders. Body of good depth & ribbings. Correct coat. Moved soundly holding topline; 2 Fry’s Wildbach Black Spellbinder, slightly taller than 1st with a good head & eye. Firm neck & shoulders. Good front, legs & feet. Nice spring of ribs & a good turn of stifle. Moved & showed well for me. I would just like a bit more weight on her to complete the picture.
